KH Ma’ruf Amin Mundur dari MUI, Din: Sudah Seharusnya

JAKARTA,Pesisirnasional.com- Ketua Dewan Pertimbangan Majelis Ulama Indonesia (MUI), Din Syamsuddin membenarkan jika KH Ma’ruf Amin sudah berstatus non aktif atau mengundurkan diri sebagai ketua umum MUI. Bahkan, kata Din Syamsuddin, memang sudah seharusnya Kiai Ma’ruf mengundurkan diri setelah mencalonkan diri sebagai calon wakil presiden pendamping Joko Widodo di pemilihan presiden (Pilpres) 2019.

“Memang pada salah satu pasalnya jika ketua umum dan sekretaris umum MUI tidak boleh rangkap dalam jabatan politik,” ujar Din Syamsuddin saat ditemui di Universitas Muhammadiyah Jakarta (UMJ), di Ciputat,Tangerang Selatan, Rabu (29/8)

Menurut mantan Ketua Umum PP Muhammadiyah itu, hal itu sudah diatur di dalam anggaran dasar dan anggaran rumah tangga (AD/ART) keorganisasian MUI. Oleh karena itu, hari pihakmya akan menggelar rapat untuk menentukan status Ma’ruf Amin. “Nanti siang ini ada rapat Dewan Pertimbangan MUI untuk membicarakan dan merumuskan atau memutuskan,” jelas Din Syamsuddin.

Sebelumnya, Wakil Ketua Umum MUI, Zainut Tauhid menyampaikan Ma’ruf Amin memilih untuk mundur dari jabatannya. Menurutnya, keputusan Ma’ruf Amin untuk mundur bertujuan agar posisinya sebagai cawapres Jokowi tidak menimbulkan pro-kontra di masyarakat dan internal MUI.

“Tujuannya untuk menjaga independensi MUI dari dinamika politik praktis, akhirnya Kiyai memilih non aktif dari jabatan tersebut,” terang Zainut Tauhid. (rci/red)
