DUMAI, Pesisirnasional- Sekretaris Daerah (Sekda) Kota Dumai Ir. H. M Nasir mewakili Walikota meresmikan gedung Komite Reformasi Masyarakat Dumai (KRMD), Senin (15/10/2018) di Jalan Datuk Laksamana Nomor 292, Kota Dumai.

Dalam sambutannya, Sekda mengatakan bahwa KRMD sebagai salah satu pendiri Kota Administratif menjadi Kota Madya.

“KRMD diharapkan dapat berperan untuk membantu pemerintah melaksanakan program-program yang menjadi persoalan Kota Dumai,” harapnya.

Ditambahkannya, ada dua persoalan yang mendasar di Kota Dumai, yang pertama air bersih, kemudian masalah banjir.

“Air bersih, kita sudah merencanakan pada tahun 2019 akan dilaksanakan program ini dengan menggandeng investor dan menggunakan dana sharing,” paparnya.

Dilanjutkannya, pelabuhan Dumai kondisinya sekarang mengalami ketinggian daratannya, dikarenakan proses pengembangan dengan pola penimbunan sehingga permukaan daratan di pinggir pelabuhan menjadi bertambah tinggi, jika dibiarkan maka air yang dari laut melalui tiga belas pintu yang ada akan masuk ke daratan yang lebih rendah karena sifat air adalah mencari tempat yang rendah.

“Kita berharap masyarakat bisa menyampaikan persoalan untuk kita sampaikan kepada pemerintah,” pungkasnya menutup sambutan.

Selain peresmian gedung tersebut, anggota KRMD juga mendapatkan bantuan berupa asuransi kesehatan dari Pemerintah Kota Dumai melalui KRMD.
