Puluhan Orang Hilang Setelah Perahu Terbalik di Nepal

PESISIR NASIONAL, KATHMANDU- Satu perahu yang membawa puluhan penumpang terbalik di sungai di Kabupaten Rautahat, Nepal pada Sabtu (25/8) malam. Kecelakaan tersebut terjadi di Sungai Lalbakaiya, kata Pejabat Kepala Kabupaten Rautahat Govinda Prasad Rijal kepada Xinhua.

Rijal mengatakan mereka belum mengetahui jumlah pasti orang yang berada di perahu itu. Menurut dia, kecelakaan tersebut terjadi ketika perahu itu dilaporkan menabrak dan menjatuhkan pilar satu jembatan yang sedang diperbaiki.

“Kami sudah menyelamatkan 15 orang sejauh ini, dan operasi pencarian sedang berlangsung melalui kerja sama dengan polisi, militer dan warga lokal,” kata Rijal dari lokasi kecelakaan, yang berjarak 110 kilometer di sebelah tenggara Ibu Kota Nepal, Kathmandu.

Akibat hujan, air sungai di Nepal telah naik selama beberapa pekan belakangan ini.
