PESISIR NASIONAL, AMMAN- Yordania pada Sabtu (25/8) mengutuk Israel karena menangkap beberapa pegawai Departemen Urusan Waqaf Islam di Jerusalem. Kantor berita resmi Yordania, Petra, melaporkan tiga pegawai Departemen Urusan Waqaf ditangkap saat melakukan pekerjaan pemeliharaan di Masjid Al-Aqsha.
Menteri Negara Yordania Urusan Media Jumana Ghunaimat menyampaikan penolakan Yordania terhadap tindakan provokatif yang tak bisa dibenarkan itu. Ia menyebutnya pelanggaran nyata terhadap hukum dan campur-tangan dalam pekerjaan departemen terkait Yordania.
“Israel mesti menghentikan semua tindakan seperti itu dan menghormati hukum internasional,” kata Ghunaimat.
Ghunaimat menuturkan, pihaknya telah mengajukan keluhan resmi kepada pemerintah Israel. Kementerian yang dipimpinnya juga akan melakukan tindakan yang diperlukan guna menjamin pembebaskan pegawai tersebut.
