Pantauan tersebut terlihat dari aplikasi kurs mata uang milik Google, pada Kamis (4/10/2018) pukul 12.54 WIB, nilai tukar rupiah terhadap dolar sudah mencapai Rp.15.210.95 per 1 dolar AS.
Dilansir Katadata, Selasa (2/10/2018), Ekonom Institute For Development of Economics and Finance (Indef) Bhima Yudhistira menjelaskan boikot Presiden AS Donald Trump terhadap minyak Iran membuat berkurangnya pasokan minyak dunia. Kondisi ini memicu harga minyak mentah menembus US$ 85 per barel atau melonjak 28% secara tahun kalender.
Lonjakan harga minyak tersebut bakal membuat kebutuhan Indonesia akan dolar AS semakin besar untuk pembayaran impor minyak. Ini artinya, defisit perdagangan Indonesia berisiko semakin lebar. Kondisi tersebut bisa memperberat upaya stabilisasi kurs rupiah ke depan.
“Bagi negara net importir minyak seperti Indonesia, naiknya harga minyak dapat menyebabkan defisit (perdagangan) migas yang semakin lebar. Permintaan dolar secara alamiah akan terus meningkat,” kata Bhima, Selasa (2/10).
Di luar itu, ia menjelaskan, pelemahan kurs rupiah juga dipengaruhi oleh penguatan dolar AS. Adapun dolar AS mengalami penguatan terhadap mata uang utama dunia imbas beberapa isu eksternal, seperti deadlock pembahasan anggaran belanja pemerintah Italia dan ketidakpastian Brexit.
Saat ini, indeks dolar AS kembali mencapai level 95. “Kenaikan ini jadi sinyal tren super dolar berlanjut dan menghantam mata uang negara berkembang,” ujar Bhima. Secara khusus, euro melemah 1,29% terhadap dolar AS dalam seminggu terakhir.
Menurut dia, pelaku pasar juga tengah menunggu data tenaga kerja di AS yang bakal dirilis pekan ini. Prediksinya, tingkat pengangguran turun ke kisaran 3,8% atau terendah dalam 18 tahun terakhir pada September. Hal ini memicu spekulasi akan kenaikan lebih cepat bunga acuan AS Fed Fund Rate.
Kondisi tersebut ditambah kekhawatiran seputar perang dagang membuat penempatan dalam dolar AS menjadi pilihan aman. Selain faktor eksternal, ia menduga faktor domestik seperti pertumbuhan ekonomi Indonesia kuartal III yang kemungkinan lebih rendah dari kuartal sebelumnya, turut mempengaruhi sikap pelaku pasar.
