DUMAI – Aktivis NGO Kota Dumai, Ir Muhammad Hasbi menyebutkan sosok Ahmad Maritulius pantas melanjutkan estafet kepemimpinan H Zulkifli AS. Selain putra asli daerah, selama ini juga telah banyak berkiprah. Salah satunya ikut memperjuangkan pendirian Kota Dumai.
” Itu tidak bisa dipungkiri. Dia (Ahmad Maritulius) memiliki andil besar dalam perjuangan pendirian Kota Dumai ini. Saat itu, sebagai putra daerah dirinya merasa terpanggil pulang dari tanah Jawa untuk memperjuangkan kampung halamannya. Dan hari ini kita semua ikut menikmati hasil dari perjuangan itu,” ujar Ir Muhammad Hasbi kepada pesisirnasional.com, Senin (14/10/19) tadi malam.
Menurut Muhammad Hasbi, dengan latar belakang tersebut Ahmad Maritulius secara emosional pasti memiliki tanggungjawab lebih untuk memajukan tanah kelahirannya. Menyangkut kepemimpinan juga tidak diragukan karena dirinya terlibat dalam banyak organisasi.
” Semangatnya pasti berbeda, karena ini kampung halamannya dan beliau ikut berjuang untuk mendirikan Kota Dumai. Beliau orang organisasi dan memiliki karakter kepemimpinan yang kuat,” papar Muhammad Hasbi.
Lebih lanjut disampaikan Muhammad Hasbi yang juga Ketua LBH Yayasan Lembaga Bantuan Hukum Nasional (YLBHN) itu, kepemimpinan Dumai kedepan tidak boleh tersandera dengan persoalan hukum. Pasalnya itu akan berdampak pada pelaksanaan program dan percepatan pembangunan daerah.
” Apa yang terjadi hari ini, jadikan sebagai pelajaran. Caranya, kita harus selektif dalam menentukan pemimpin Dumai kedepan. Jangan berikan ruang kepada orang-orang yang berpotensi tersandera dengan masalah hukum,” ujarnya.(pnc)
